Braxe & Falcon embody the very DNA of the French Touch: emotional house built on filtered disco and soul loops, a defining sound of the Parisian scene since the mid-90s. Cousins in real life yet unaware of each other's early musical paths, they each helped shape this iconic aesthetic; Braxe with Stardust and the timeless "Music Sounds Better With You," and Falcon with Thomas Bangalter in Together and the cult classic "So Much Love To Give." Both moved between essential productions, emblematic remixes and an instinctive, DIY approach inherited from the Roulé era.
In 2022, they finally unveiled their first true collaboration under the name Braxe & Falcon, with the EP Step By Step, released on Smugglers Way. It's a luminous synthesis of their shared universe: acoustic drums, modular synthesizers and looping samples - taken from rare records or from their own archives. Together, they reconnect with the raw, intuitive spirit of their beginnings, embracing imperfections while filtering everything through decades of experience.
The EP opens with "Step By Step" enhanced by Panda Bear's soaring vocals - a hybrid ballad where French house meets a refined, dream-like pop sensibility.
"Creative Source" channels the euphoric rush of filtered samples, while "Elevation," featuring Sunni Colon, unfolds with an organic and pulsing groove. More direct, "Love Me" returns to pure club energy with cathartic efficiency.
